Three seriously injured and two arrested by plain-clothed special forces in clashes that erupted near the Qalandiya Refugee Camp after Israel closed the checkpoint to Jerusalem.
Palestinians will march on Jerusalem from all cardinal directions in a coordinated protest organized by the Olive-Revolution movement on the last Friday of Ramadan.
Over 1000 men, women and children marched in Qalandiya Sunday to mark the Nakba. The Israeli military stopped the march using heavy handed crow control measures which resulted in over 100 injured including 20 medium to serious injuries. The demonstration lasted from morning until night with one attempt at upending the eight metre high Qalandiya barrier.
Hundreds of Palestinian woman marched towards the main checkpoint between Jerusalem and Ramallah, the Qalandiya checkpoint. Soldiers attacked the demonstration with sound bombs and tear gas.
In a symbolic reenactment of the event that changed the world 20 years ago, demonstrators from all over the West Bank managed to topple a section of Israel's wall, 8 meters of reinforced concrete in hight, near the infamous Qalandiya Checkpoint.
