Some 200 demonstrators from the village of Kufr Qaddum, joined by a small group of Israeli supporters, demonstrated against land grab and the severe restrictions imposed on their freedom of movement. The village has been effectively besieged since the beginning of the Second Intifada, when the main and only entrance to the village was blocked by the army. Furthermore, settlers of the adjacent settlement Kedumin have been long taking over privately owned Palestinian land in a manner that even the Israeli civil Administration called "theft"
The demonstration marched from the center of the village towards the road block and where blocked by soldiers who placed barbed wire on the road. Some speeches were made but clashes shortly erupted when the army began shooting tear-gas at the protesters. A small group of youth threw stones at the soldiers, making a claim against army's presence in the village. The demonstration lasted for about two hours. No injuries or arrests were reported. The popular committee calls upon local and international activists to join their demonstrations in the coming weeks.
