Sixty Palestinian, Israeli and international activists demonstrated in the southern West Bank village of Maasra today. The demonstration was in solidarity with Uday Qadous, from Iraq Burin, who was killed by Jewish settlers on January 27. The peaceful demonstration was stoped by a line of soliders who threated to use tear gas and sound bombs against demonstrators.

The demonstration in Ma'asra also protested the court decision to acquit the Israeli officer who gave the order to shoot at Ashraf Abu Rahma. Roads into the village were closed by soldiers throughout the demonstration. Towards the end of the demonstration there was a car accident involving two settler cars. Protesters helped the settlers exit the totaled cars. However, soldiers removed demonstrators that helped the injured settlers.
