Roughly fifty Palestinian, Israeli and international demonstrators held a protest in Bil'in this afternoon against the Separation Wall and the occupation. Among the demonstrators was a delegation of senior members of the Chilean Parliament who were invited to join Bil'in in its struggle against the occupation by the deputy speaker of parliament Eban Moreira. A delegation of the Palestinian Arab Liberation Front was also in attendance.
After marching to the barrier chanting slogans of national unity, demonstrators were attacked by soldiers. Soldiers sprayed demonstrators with the 'skunk water', a petrochemical which stays on skin for three weeks. After the 'skunk', the demonstration was attacked with tear gas, sound bombs and rubber bullets. Dozens of people suffered from tear gas inhalation and from being sprayed with the skunk. The demonstration ended after soldiers crossed the barrier and chased demonstrators back to the village.
