The march began after Friday prayers from the center of the village heading to the land which was returned to the village after years of popular and legal struggle. Participants raised Palestinian flags and banners, called to end the occupation, dismantle the Wall and release all political prisoners.

Upon their arrival to the Abu Lemon area (the groves regained by the village), activists removed some of the barbed wire that cuts through the land. Then Israeli soldiers who were situated behind the concrete wall shot rubber coated bullets, shock grenades, teargas canisters, and sprayed "skunk" (foul smelling water) towards the demonstrators. No severe injuries were reported. A similar demonstration was held at the neighboring village of Ni'ilin.
