Residents of Nabi Saleh, accompanied by Palestinians from the area, as well as Israeli and international activists, marched down the village's main street of this Friday in solidarity with Palestinian prisoners.
As soon as soldiers noticed the procession, still well inside the village, the first barrage of tear-gas was fired for no foreseeable reason. As protesters continued to try and advance towards the village's lands and the spring that was taken over by the settlers, soldiers kept shooting immense amounts of tear-gas into the village. At some point, after shooting yet another round of tear-gas, a group of soldiers sprinted towards a man who was merely standing in the street, grabbed him and lead him to the Jeep. An Israeli activist who tried to come to his help was also detained, as well as an international activist.
The soldiers then went farther into the village, invading it with armored jeeps. Another Palestinian was arrested in the clashes that ensued following the incursion. only after nightfall, the soldiers eventually left the village.
The Israeli and the international were released, while the Palestinians were both taken to the police station for further questioning. The older man, who was the first to be arrested was released in the middle of the night without even being question, while the second Palestinian is still being held.
