A small winter day demonstration took place in Ma'asra this week. Approximately a dozen residents, joined by Israeli and international activists aimed to reach the agricultural lands of the village but were promptly stopped by the army.
This week, the demonstration marked the exciting possible Palestinian unification that was reported in the media earlier this week. Protesters stressed the importance of unification for strengthening the popular struggle against the occupation.
Mahmoud Allaa al-Din, a resident of the village that was arrested last week during the demonstration was bailed out of prison on Thursday, and joined the demonstration as well. He said that his spirit will not be broken from the assaults and imprisonment. He, like the village in general, will continue fighting the occupation peacefully, with all their might.
After about an hour of standing in front of the military regiment and chanting slogans in three languages, heavy rain started pouring, forcing both the army and protesters to disperse. However, the later declared that they will come back next week.
