Villagers report that settlers from adjacent settlements, Dolev and Talmon, arrived to the village olive groves, apparently as part of what is known as the "price tag" campaign, waged by Jewish extremists.

Land owner Ali Yousef came to his lands to harvest olives and found about 10 trees uprooted and "price tag" graffiti in Hebrew. Inside the trees, settlers placed paper stating "these trees now belong to Jews. Do not come near." Moreover, villagers complain that the Israeli army has largely restricted their ability to harvest in their lands, limiting their permits for four days a week for two weeks only.

In recent years, settlers have carried out violent acts under the slogan “price tag.” These are acts of random violence aimed at the Palestinian population and Israeli security forces. They generally follow actions by Israeli authorities that are perceived as harming the settlement enterprise, or follow Palestinian violence against settlers. Recorded violent acts have included blocking roads, throwing stones at cars and houses, making incursions into Palestinian villages and land, torching fields, uprooting trees, and other damage to property.
