Protesters Cut Through Separation Barrier in Ni'ilin

Some 200 people marched on the Wall in Ni'ilin to commemorate the six years anniversary to Yasser Arafat's death and managed to cut a hole in the Barrier.

Many people from as far as Jenin and Hebron came to support the weekly demonstration in Ni'ilin tpday. Some 200 protesters marched down to the Wall carrying signs with Yasser Arafat's picture on them and chanting slogans. A speech denouncing the Occupation was made on arriving to the 28 feet wall, and protesters climbed over it and posted Palestinian flags and a banner who were left flying from atop the concrete behemoth.

As tear-gas was shot at the protesters across the Wall by the soldiers positioned on its other side, a group of demonstrators carrying bolt cutters marched north, towards where the concrete wall becomes an electronic touch sensitive fence, and cut through the razor-wire barricade and then through the electronic fence.

After roughly an hour demonstrators dispersed with no injuries or arrests recorded and in alleviate spirits.
