Large Israeli forces invaded the village of Nabi Saleh in the small hours of the night between Thursday and Friday, raiding more than ten houses and occupying at least five of them for several hours. Three residents of the village, including one minor, were arrested.

Among the houses that were raided was that of local popular committee member Abu Hussam, to which more than a dozen soldiers barged in at approximately 2 am,  also using dogs in the search operation. The soldiers left the house approximately an hour later only to return again at 4 am, this time arresting Khaled Tamimi, one of Abu Hussam's sons. Only a few hours before, Khaled was released from jail on court order after he was arrested during a protest in Jericho on Tuesday.

Following Khaled's arrest, the soldiers gathered the remaining family members in the living room, where they stayed until they left just as they came at approximately 8 am. Throughout this entire time, members of the family were forbidden to speak on the phone, take pictures, or even freely go to the toilet.

A few hours later, soldiers returned to the village once more, this time to suppress the weekly demonstration. The protesters, who braved the stormy weather and heavy rainfall were met by showers of "Skunk", a foul-smelling liquid sprayed by the soldiers from a high pressure water cannon.

Those arrested in the night only arrived to the police station some 18 hours later, without having eaten anything the entire day or allowed any sleep. Khaled Tamimi was arrested without being interrogated, as it turned out his arrest was carried out "by mistake".

Anan Tamimi, the 17 year-old who was arrested, was questioned unlawfully without the presence of his mother, despite the legal requirement that minors be questioned in the presence of their parents and the fact that she was present at police station.
