Residents in Susiya, who have been suffering from another wave of house demolitions, organized a work day to fix up the dirt road from the village to the local school. Shortly after beginning the renovation, Civil Administration forces came by, accompanied by Border Police and army. After some deliberations, Civil Administration decided to allow them to work and head out of the village. A small group of local youth tried to put Palestinian flags of the Civil Administration jeep and on one of the Border Police jeeps. One young boy was arrested by the Border Police and taken to interrogation.

The village Susiya is located entirely in Area C, under the military and administrative control of Israel. Within this area, all construction requires the issuing of a permit by Israeli authorities, which is almost impossible to receive. According to a recent UN report, Palestinians are barred from building in 70% of the West Bank.
