A detainee forced to strip to his underwear in alHamra checkpoint and paraded in front of passers-by
On 14th February the Israeli army closed alHamra checkpoint, arrested two Palestinian men, forced them to strip, blindfolded them and then made them walk down the road in front of queues of people
alHamra is just 3 1/2 km from Al Jiftlik village, and is the main checkpoint between the Jordan Valley, and the west banks cities of Tubas and Nablus.
By stopping all the cars and closing the checkpoint the Israeli army causes major disruption in the area - to exacerbate that disruption they also closed Tayasir checkpoint to the north. When they reopened Tayasir they kept alHamra closed, causing long delays.
alHamra checkpoint was established in 2000 in the initial days of the 2nd Intifada.
